What is the GK-12 program?
The GK-12 program is administered through the Division of Graduate Education at the National Science Foundation. More information about the program and other GK-12 projects are available at the GK-12 web site .


Why is the project called Science First!? 
Our GK-12 project is focused on revising the elementary school curriculum at North Side Elementary School to one that is science-centered.


Where is North Side Elementary School?
North Side is located at 1000 North Roan Street, Johnson City, less than two miles from the ETSU campus.


What is expected of a fellow in the GK-12 program?
In addition to attending classes, conducting their thesis research and meeting other requirements of their Master's degree program, each fellow is expected to spend 15 hours per week at North Side or working on related materials.

How do I apply to participate in the program?  
Funding for the NSF GK-12 "Science First!" Grant has ended.  No additional applications will be accepted for this program.
