New Digitarium Full Dome Video Projector
and American Seating cushioned Seats

Our planetarium now houses a new state-of-the-art full dome digital projection system which immerses the viewer in computer simulations and animations. It offers a virtual reality experience in space. The new Digitarium Epsilon projector from Digitalis Education Solutions, Inc. comes with a unique fish-eye lens and astronomy software tailored for planetarium use and designed for realistic displays of celestial objects. The $75,000 renovation was funded through the ETSU Technology Access Fee program for innovative projects to improve teaching and learning through technology. In addition to the new projection system and a new surround sound audio system, new semi-circular seating for 45 persons was installed. The dome was repainted and new flooring and wall furnishings completed the renovation.
The planetarium is located on the top floor of Hutcheson Hall, in room 207. (Map) Enter Hutcheson Hall at the East end of the building where the elevator is located. A large sign on the building wall identifites the entrance. Visitors may park without permits during the evening hours in either student or faculty parking lots on campus.
