College of Arts & Sciences

A student majoring in Sociology (B.A., B.S.) must complete 30 credit hours of approved courses. In addition to maintaining an overall grade point average of at least 2.0 in the major, a student must earn a grade of "C" or above in each required course in the major.

SOCI 2020 Social Problems (3 credit hours)
SOCI 3210 Sociological Research (3 credit hours)
SOAA 3350 Social Statistics (3 credit hours)
SOCI 3444 Data Analysis (3 credit hours)
SOCI 4057 Community Sociology (3 credit hours)
SOCI 4807 Modern Social Theory (3 credit hours)

SOCI or SOAA Electives (9 credit hours)*
*Students must choose elective courses in consultation with a sociology advisor.

The B.S. degree in the College of Arts and Sciences involves the following requirements (refer to catalogue for more information):
