The Encyclopedia of Appalachia, a joint project of the Center for Appalachian Studies and Services at East Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee Press, is the most comprehensive work on Appalachia ever produced. With over 2,000 entries, the Encyclopedia serves as a one-stop reference for students, teachers, scholars, and the general public as they seek information about Appalachia's land, people, economics, cultures, and institutions.
