The Archives of Appalachia is a keeper of written words, images, and sounds. We collect, preserve, and share memories of the Appalachian people. Our collections weave a story that must be told so those outside the region and those raised here can celebrate the Appalachian culture. No child of Appalachia should grow up unaware of the culture and heritage that is theirs.

The Archives will never be a forgotten storehouse, but will remain a living part of the region -- the keeper of Appalachian memories. We make our collections available to the community, to students, to teachers, and to academic scholars. We invite you to explore our site and learn more about us and how we can serve you.

The Archives of Appalachia is open Monday-Friday, from 9:00-4:30.
ETSU holidays are observed.
