This video traces the development of Johnson City, Tennessee. It addresses the role of transportation, education, popular entertainment, industry, commerce, and the changing look of Main Street. Video: 23 minutes.




LONG STEEL RAIL:
SOUTHERN MOUNTAIN RAILROADS

This video examines the history of railroads in south-central Appalachia. Included are rare recordings of railroad songs, work crew chants, and interviews with railroad employees. Video: 28 minutes.
