Welcome to the Department of Kinesiology, Leisure and Sport Sciences (KLSS) web site. Selected components of the KLSS programs including undergraduate and graduate programs of study, and our faculty are presented. The mission of the Department of KLSS is to enhance the quality of life through the promotion of healthy, active lifestyles; and to prepare students for leadership roles in the development and administration of education, fitness, recreation, and sport programs. The Department of Kinesiology, Leisure and Sport Sciences offers two different baccalaureate degree programs. The Bachelor of Science in Physical Education offers two concentrations: 1) Kindergarten - 12th grade Physical Education Teacher Education, and 2) Exercise Science. Also offered is the Bachelor of Science in Sport and Leisure Management with concentrations in 1) Sport Management, and 2) Park & Recreation Management. Our graduate programs offer the opportunity to earn the Master of Arts in Kinesiology and Sport Studies with three concentrations available: 1) Sport Management; 2) Exercise Physiology and Performance; and 3) K - 12 Physical Education. In addition, the department serves approximately 5,000 students a year in the Active Lifestyles and Wellness Program, offering courses ranging from aerobics, disc sports, fitness and strength training to tennis, golf, relaxation, softball, soccer, and mountain biking.
