Early Childhood Education
| Why should I study
Early Childhood Education? |

Dedication. Love.
Inspiration.
There is no substitute for a great
teacher, especially during the early years when
children are learning how to learn and when so many
of their attitudes about school and education are
formed. There is no more important time than now for
students like you to commit themselves to this
profession as we play our part in building the
future.
Our Early Childhood Education majors work in a
variety of settings such as teachers in public
schools (PreK-4th grade), teachers and directors in
preschools and child care centers, or as teachers and
administrators in Head Start. Others have followed
opportunities with the state in positions such as
evaluators in the Tennessee Three-Star Rating System.
Some graduates have gone to work with children and
their families within organizations such as the YMCA,
Boys and Girls Clubs, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and
others.
Early Childhood Education is about caring; being
committed to children and helping them grasp life's
opportunities through education. Your dedication is
their inspiration.
