Attended University of Florida, Gainesville my freshman year.
Graduated with a B.A. in Art Education from Milliken College in Decatur, Illinois in 1970.
Graduated with an M.A. in Special Education in 1971, from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.
Did all course work for a Master’s in Art Education at the University of South Carolina. While working on my thesis, my graduate professor passed away suddenly and I did not complete the thesis, as no one else in the department knew enough about the topic to provide adequate counsel.
1971 — 1972 - I taught high school special education at Centennial High School in Champaign, Illinois.
1972— January of 1973 - I taught high school special education in Hopkinsville, Kentucky at Hopkinsville High School.
1973- to April of 1974- I taught Art and English at an International School located on Okinawa, Japan.
1974- 1983- I taught high school special education, and was the department head, at Central High School in Champaign, Illinois.
1983- 1984 - My husband and I moved our family to Lexington, South Carolina just outside of Columbia. We purchased a boarding kennel there. After if was up and running, I missed teaching so I returned to the classroom.
1985- 2001 - I taught elementary art at both Springdale and Congaree for 2 years until a position became available full time at one school. I then taught art only at Congaree Elementary School until we moved to Tennessee.
I was semi- retired when we moved to Jonesborough in 2002. I worked in two different picture framing businesses from 2002 to 2005 at which time I got an interim position at West View School in Washington County teaching art from Kindergarten through 8th
For the last 5 years I have worked at West View as an interim teacher, as well as a substitute.
Most recently I completed my first book as an illustrator. The book was published in February of 2010. It is a geography book for children entitled” Jammin’ Geography, Caribbean Cruise”.
I have also painted 4 large murals at West View since October of 2009.
