University School
is saddened to announce that Mr. Rob
Kilgore, former University School
instructor, died on Saturday, August
12, 2006.
Mr. Kilgore
taught at University School from
1990 until his retirement in 2004.
During his tenure with our school,
he taught various courses including
English, Government, and History.
He contributed, as an editor, to
the book, "Old Erwin". He was
a sponsor of the Academic Decathlon
Team. He
also contributed a number of
articles to the literary webpage PAL
(Perspectives in American
Literature), which included research
on Herman Melville and Nathaniel
Hawthorne.
After
retirement, Mr. Kilgore often
visited the school, volunteering,
just to "help out".
While he will be
missed by faculty, staff, and
students, we celebrate the valuable
input that the school received from
such a knowledgeable person, a true
Historian!
The Kilgore Family will hold a
private Memorial Service for family
members only. They have
requested that in lieu of flowers,
donations be sent to University
School.
We send our condolences
to the Kilgore family.
