About this Conference: This activity will provide training on addiction and proper prescribing of medications for addiction treatment (MAT). Educating healthcare providers should help to alleviate preconceived ideas about treatment of opioid use disorder and ultimately reduce the number of patients obtaining certain classes of narcotics in quantities greater than 7 a day.

Target Audience: Family medicine physicians, internal medicine physicians, OB/GYN physicians, surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and nurses

As a result of attending this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Identify best practices for prescribing opioids for pain.
  • Understand the comparative effectiveness of medications for addiction treatment (MAT).
  • Address opioid use in women of childbearing age.
