John Culp, MD, FAAFP, Associate Professor/Bristol Center

Dr. Culp is originally from Alabama, but is now an adopted Tennessean. He graduated from University High in Johnson City and received a BS from East Tennessee State University. Dr. Culp returned to Alabama to earn his MD from the University of Alabama in 1980 and completed his residency in Family Practice at Anniston, Alabama in 1983. He worked in private practice in Anniston until joining the Bristol Family Practice Program in October 1986. Dr. Culp is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatrics.  His wife Jane is a biology teacher who is presently busy at home taking care of their family and is actively involved in church work and various community organizations. After hours, you will find Dr. Culp also involved in church work, community activities, and family life. He enjoys antique gas engines, hunting and shooting, and playing the guitar.
