I am from, and still reside, in Richlands, Virginia. After completing my undergraduate work at Virginia Commonwealth University, I earned my master's degree and an eventual transitional doctorate in physical therapy from Shenandoah University. During my practice as a physical therapist, I always sought to further my education to better serve patients. However, I still felt the desire to serve patients in a greater capacity. Therefore, I attended Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. While exploring residency options, I completed a visiting rotation in Bristol, where I found the residents and faculty very supportive and easy to work with. I have been so blessed with the love and support of my wife, Shannon, and our two sons, Luke and Brody. This is the next step in reaching my goal of becoming a caring, competent physician, so that I may best serve the people of my region.
