Jahnave Gudaru

I was born and raised in the historic Pondicherry, a beautiful beach town in India, formed out of four enclaves of former French India. My father, a primary care physician in India, is the role model I have patterned myself after. My decision to become a family practice physician was reinforced during my volunteer participation in a series of medical camps in rural areas during my medical school training at Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences. I was excited by the breadth of opportunities that primary care offers. Furthermore, I also appreciated the way family medicine treats the whole patient and offers the opportunity to establish long-term relationships with the patients. My medical interests span the broad spectrum of preventive medicine, pediatrics, women's health, sports medicine and beyond. With the great faculty, prodigious learning environment and the wealth of opportunities, I believe that this program will serve me as the right platform to pursue my interests. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my daughter. I also enjoy cooking ethnic food, outdoor activities, dancing, playing volleyball and badminton.
