I was raised in Winfield, Alabama, which is a small town of 4,000 people located about two hours northwest of Birmingham. For my undergraduate studies, I attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where I obtained a bachelor's degree in biochemistry. Then, I attended Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences for medical school.
After nine years in large cities, preceded by the first 18 in a small, rural town, I decided to train at a more moderate sized, friendlier environment for residency. Johnson City provides this, plus beautiful surroundings, and a location that is relatively close to home.
I am very excited to be here. In the future, I would like to settle in a small to moderate sized city and set up a practice there. In my free time I enjoy reading, listening to music, playing piano, learning foreign languages, and playing video and computer games.
