I grew up in a small town in Iowa just south of Des Moines. Through the years I have enjoyed traveling to many part of the world including Europe and Australia as well as many parts of the United States. I worked for several years with no degree as a certified nurse’s aide. In 2000, after my daughter was born, I began college with a healthy respect for those who work below a living wage. I received a B.S. degree in sociology and a B.S.W. degree in 2005, magna cum laude. I went on to receive an M.S.W. in 2006 with an interest in working with the elderly, Veterans, their families, and mentally ill adults. I received my L.C.S.W. license in 2009 and continue to grow and enjoy the journey. I enjoy advocating for patients and working with them to enhance their sense of well-being through community resource referrals, psychotherapy, and psychosocial interventions. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my daughter and her many activities, cooking, reading, volunteering in the community and enjoy many activities with my church. andersea@etsu.edu.
