Top Skills Needed:    Microbiology, Aseptic Techniques, ACP Petrifilm, Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis, PCR 

Media preparation/sterilization, utilize aseptic technique during sample preparation, process initial procedures in both quantitative and qualitative analysis, maintenance and daily verification of laboratory instrumentation, and maintain storage of samples.   

Work Environment: Analytical Laboratory – Environ./Food

Qualifications:        

  • Bachelors – Microbiology or Food Science
  • 2 years’ experience outside of academia
  • Experience with aseptic technique
  • Experience in quantitative plating
  • Food analysis preferred, but not required

Performance Expectations:   Quality of sample prep is foremost, because re-prep is inefficient.  Accuracy of Documentation and analytical data is vital to the quality of their service.
