15 to Finish

15 To Finish Initiative.... Plan to earn your Degree Now, Not Later

15 to Finish Initiative encourages students to take 15 credits per semester. The initiative is geared towards helping students graduate within a reasonable time. Use the plan function in Degree Works to see how 15 credits per semester will affect your graduation date. Watch the video below for more information on 15 to Finish.

Degree Works

Degree Works is an academic advising and degree audit tool that helps advisors and students track their degree progress in real-time!

Fully integrated with GoldLink, Degree Works gives students an up-to-date, play-by-play of courses taken and courses needed to help them plan and complete their degree(s) on time!

"What If..." scenarios, allow students to experiment with changing majors or degree plans.

First Mate

First Mate allows you to grant your parent, spouse or another person view-only access to specific GoldLink pages that you authorize.  Your First Mate can login using their own email address and password to see only the GoldLink pages that you select.  These pages can include: financial aid information, course schedule information, etc.  You choose which pages your First Mate has access to view.

  reverse_transfer_pathway

Reverse Transfer is a process that allows a student who completed a minimum of 15 hours at a participating Tennessee two-year institution and transferred to a participating Tennessee four-year institution to combine college credits from both institutions and apply them toward an associate degree.

Transfer Works

Use this site to see how the academic credits you have earned at other institutions can be used to earn a degree at East Tennessee State University. All you have to do is answer a few questions (Page 1), tell us what classes you took and where you took them (Page 2), and we will tell you how the coursework will apply towards the degree you select (an articulation report on Page 3 and a degree audit on Page 4). At the end, we will give you some options about what you might do next (Page 5).

Advising Summary

The Advising Summary is an informational webpage in Self-Service Banner which is available to students and advisors.  The Advising Summary provides most advisement and registration related information in a one-stop-shop webpage.  The Advising Summary has been expanded to include information that was previously only available thru Internet Native Banner.  This one-stop-page helps advisors to assist, remind and refer students as needed to prevent students from missing important deadlines or overlooking registration requirements.

Enhancements added:  Financial Aid Status,  Payment Status,  Immunization Status,  Learning Support Status and an

Advisement Hold Release Option

 Schedule Builder

Schedule Builder is a simple interface that provides students with the ability to generate schedules for their classes in mere seconds.  Students can compare up to four schedules at a time. As an example, a student can “lock in” their first choice professor and search for a new set of schedules around that choice. Students can then send the schedule to their Registration Cart until they can register.

Early Semester Progress Reports (ESPR / mid-term grades)

ETSU has successfully used the Early Semester Progress Report (ESPR) for almost 20 years to help our undergraduate students succeed in their courses and stay in college.  The ESPR gives students a snapshot of their academic standing approximately midway in the semester, while they can still use this feedback to improve.  Academic advisors use the ESPR to identify students who are performing poorly, then call or email them to offer assistance or referrals.

Advisor Grade Tool

The Advisor Grade Tool (AGT) is a reporting tool in Self Service Banner that allows advisors and staff to pull lists of students using various selection criteria.  The AGT can be used to pull Early Semester Progress Reports, End-of-Term lists or lists of students.  These AGT lists can be used to identify students who would benefit from ETSU resources based on ESPR Grades and can be used to identify incorrect registration at the end of each term.

Banner Document Management

BDM was implemented over the 2014-2015 school year.  The system integrated with the INB administrative system and allows departments across the university to associate electronic documents with specific students, employees, alumni, accounts, etc.  For many offices that take in physical documents from students, staff members will be able to scan those documents in, retrieve them quickly and share them with other offices as necessary.  Students will no longer have to worry about paper forms getting lost in processing.  Neither will they have to wait while a staff member hunts down a form that's in a file cabinet across the hall.  In addition to scanning, BDM will provide a structured, university-wide system for storing electronic documents for students.  In terms of content about a student, BDM will be a digital one stop shop and many departments have already moved to Banner Document Management for departmental records and archives.
