Important Dates & Deadlines
Early application every year remains the most important action in securing funds to assist with financing the student’s education. The University recommends the following dates as guidelines:
January 1 – As soon as possible, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online, with accurate previous year income information, for processing. The application will require an average processing time of four weeks if mailed and about two weeks if completed online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. List Title IV Code: 003487 for ETSU to receive your information.
February 15 – The priority deadline to have FAFSA filed to be considered for Tennessee Student Assistance Award (TSAA). Check your Student Aid Report after filing the FAFSA (read the SAR comments) to see if you are selected for verification. If so, visit the ETSU Office of Financial Aid Website for required forms.
- The deadline for incoming freshman students to apply for the Academic Performance Scholarship (APS) at ETSU.
March 1 – The deadline for making application for scholarships with the ETSU Scholarship Office, unless otherwise listed. Applications received after March 1 will not be processed.
- Follow up with the Office of Financial Aid at ETSU on the status of financial aid file.
April 15 – The priority deadline to have FAFSA filed and all required documents marked as "Received and Complete" in GoldLink to be ready for Fall semester. "Go online, not in line" to GoldLink and check your Financial Aid Status for requested documents. Students who apply late should not anticipate that aid funds to assist them with their cost of education will be available by the beginning of the Fall semester. These students should contact the Office of Financial Aid for information on alternate sources of funding.
May 15 - Follow up with the Office of Financial Aid at ETSU on the status of financial aid file.
- The deadline for transfer students to apply for the Academic Performance Scholarship (APS) at ETSU.
June 15 – Financial aid file must be complete, with all items requested received and all corrections made, for aid to be ready by start of fall classes.
September 1 - The deadline to file FAFSA to receive Lottery Scholarship for Fall. (February 1 deadline for Spring or Summer)
November 15 – The priority deadline to receive financial aid for the Spring semester. All student financial aid files must be complete in the Office of Financial Aid.
