Celebrating and Promoting International Education and Exchange
International Education Week (IEW) is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to recognize the global exchange environment between the United States and other countries.

International Embassy

ETSU International students and the International Student Organization will host an embassy fair to share information about their home countries and cultures.

International Cooking Demo

ETSU Dining and Catering Group personal cooking demo with an International flare!

12 noon - 1 pm, D.P. Culp University Center, Dining Room 2

International Movie Night

The Honors College will host International Movie Night.  Two movies will be shown - Rabbit Proof Fence and The Story of the Weeping Camel.  Popcorn and drinks will be provided and there will be an opportunity to win prizes.  Come share IEW 2009 with your fellow students, faculty, and staff. 

6 pm - Yoakley Hall, Room 109

International Stories and Performances

Experience another culture as told and performed by its students.

7 p.m. - D. P. Culp Auditorium

 

 

Winners of the Annual International Student Essay Competition will be announced and awards presented for first, second, and third place in each category.

Study Abroad Information Session

Learn more about the opportunity to study abroad from International Programs and Services Advisor, Kelly Hill.

International students from various countries will be presenting stories and performances from their homeland. 

7:30 pm, Brown Hall Auditorium 

Winners of the Annual International Student Essay contest will be announced.

Reception immediately following performances.

 

Study Abroad Fair

ETSU faculty, the Tennessee Consortium for International Studies, and other providers will have information and details on their various programs.  Information about International Education Scholarships will be available. 

10:30 am - 1:30 pm, D.P. Culp University Center, Atrium Area


Passport Information Table will be available for those wishing to learn about how to acquire a passport. 

Passport Photos will be available for those wishing to have a passport photo made.

Study Abroad Workshop - A Primer for ETSU Faculty

A study abroad primer for ETSU faculty members interested in developing programs abroad.  Where do I start; working with third party providers, teaching abroad for TNCIS, and assessment are some of the areas that will be addressed.  Pre-registration required. Essays submissions by International  students.  Monetary awards to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each category.
