Faculty at ETSU have many ways to get involved with
the Honors College.
- Teach an existing Honors class in one of the discrete
Honors Programs, including:
- Propose your own unique course, targeted to students
you want to involve by proposing an
Honors-sponsored
course at ETSU.
(Check with Dr. Rebecca Pyles, Dean
of the Honors College)
- Mentor a student in an undergraduate research or
creative activity. We are developing an on-line database
that will enable faculty to list project opportunities
and enable students to find them.

Research & Creative Activities. (Check
with Dr. Frosty Levy,
Director)
- Participate as an Honors Faculty Fellow.
Call for Proposals for the period
Fall 2007 - Spring 2009 will be made in Spring 2007.
We currently anticipate that the deadline will be April
14, 2007.
- Propose a major project that will involve students,
faculty and subjects from across the campus. Combinations
of curriculum and co-curricular activities including
lectures and cultural events are encouraged.
- If your proposal is selected, you will be assigned
for a two-year period as an Honors Faculty Fellow.
The Honors College will provide a Lecturer position
for your department for the period of your fellowship.
You will teach a course in your field and an Honors
course of your selection each semester. The remainder
of your time will be dedicated to pursuing your proposal
and making it a reality for our campus. Honors College
staff will assist you in seeking funding for the
project, if needed.

The Honors College is developing methods to recognize
faculty who are involved in honors courses, activities,
and projects at ETSU. If you’re interested in the
planning or have an idea, please contact Dr.
Mike Gallagher or Dr.
Rebecca Pyles. We’ll update this information
as details become available.
