JOHNSON CITY (March 27, 2014) — Graduates of East Tennessee State University's class of 1964, as well as all former Golden Fifties Club members, are encouraged to attend the annual spring reunions on Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10. University President Dr. Brian Noland will host the groups during the two-day Spring Weekend extravaganza.
On Friday, registration and a reunion brunch will be held at the Millennium Centre beginning at 8:30 a.m. Reunion attendees will be honored and the class of 1964 will be inducted into the Golden Fifties Club. Class photographs will be taken.
After brunch, the reunion groups will take tours of the campus and the Johnson City area to see the changes that have taken place since they left the university.
Following the tour, these alumni will be transported to the Wall of Honor Gallery in Burgin E. Dossett Hall for an old-fashioned ice cream social.
The groups will also be honored at the annual ETSU National Alumni Association Awards Banquet and Annual Meeting that evening.
On Saturday, the newest inductees, as well as all other Golden Fifties Club members, are invited to return to lead the class of 2014 into spring Commencement. There will be a breakfast at 8 a.m., and then the alumni participating in these events will don golden caps and gowns and be escorted to the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center for the 10 a.m. graduation festivities.
