The following scholarships apply only to Tennessee residents and residents of border counties in Virginia and North Carolina (Lee, Scott and Washington counties in Virginia and Ashe, Avery, Haywood, Madison, Mitchell, Watuaga and Yancey counties in North Carolina.):

APS recipients must fulfill a work requirement of 75 hours per semester (approximately 5 hours per week) in return for the scholarship and are responsible for finding their own job. APS Job List

Second undergraduate degree and currently enrolled students are not eligible.

Freshmen Guaranteed APS:

  • Entering freshmen
  • ACT score > 28 or SAT score > 1240 (Math and Reading Only)
  • Eligible students must complete the admissions application process, including submission of the application for admission, application fee, high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores by December 15
  • Students who miss the December 15 deadline may be eligible for a Competitive APS award if scholarship application is submitted by no later than February 15

Freshmen Competitive APS:

  • Entering freshmen
  • Awards will be made to students with highest ACT/SAT scores and GPA
  • Application deadline:  Feb 15
