Harryet S. Blackwell Scholarship Endowment
Awarded to Family and Consumer Sciences Majors. Recipient must
have completed 60 hours; have a minimum 3.0 gpa; and be an active member in both
AAFCS and TAFCS. Applicants are judged on the basis of scholarship, character,
leadership, and professional interest in Family and Consumer Sciences. Apply to
the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences.
Juanita West Proffitt Scholarship Endowment
For majors in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Awarded on the basis of scholarship and
financial need, with preference going to candidates from Western North Carolina (Yancy, Madison, and Buncombe
counties) and Northeast Tennessee (Washington, Carter, Johnson, Unicoi, Sullivan, Greene, Hawkins
and, Hancock counties). Apply to the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences.
Vivian V. Rockwood Scholarship Endowment
For a rising senior with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Recipient must be a
Family and Consumer Sciences major and a member of Kappa Omicron Nu with plans to
attend graduate school. Apply to the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences.
