Program Announcements

The ETSU department of Engineering Technology, Surveying, and Digital Media formed the seventh Engineering Technology (ENTC) cohorts that began in the Fall 2009 semester. The ET cohort programs are primarily for students seeking to complete either (a) a four year, B.S. degree in Engineering Technology &/or (b) an M.S. degree in Technology.

Depending upon a demonstrated level of interest, ETSU may develop one or more program-specific or multidisciplinary undergraduate cohorts for students studying in one of the following Engineering Technology program areas:
    •  Construction;
    •  Electronics;
    •  Manufacturing (General &/or Programming & Automation sequences);
    •  Product Development, or
    •  Industrial Technology.
If there is sufficient interest, ETSU may also form a new graduate-level cohort program for students interested in pursuing an M.S. degree in Technology with a concentration in Engineering Technology.

The cohort(s), developed to satisfy the needs of previously underserved populations of students within the Knoxville/Oak Ridge metropolitan area, will follow the previous model of engineering technology cohorts by offering a schedule of at least two (2) technical courses taught each term for at least six (6) consecutive semesters. All cohort-related classes will be offered during the evenings and will be delivered either locally (typically on the Pelissippi campus) or via through realtime or asynchronous methods (e.g., interactive Internet two-way video classroom conferencing or traditional on-line courses).

For more information, please contact Ms. Jamie Lewis.

Active Cohorts: ETSU's first on-site cohort for a Masters (MS) degree in Technology with a Concentration in Engineering Technology began in Fall 2007. If you are interested in participating in another M.S. degree program cohort opportunity, please contact Dr. Andy Clark, the departmental graduate advisor.

Pellissippi Cohort Program Overview

Since 2001, ETSU has partnered with Pellissippi State Community College (PSTCC) to offer an on-going series of on-site 2+2 transfer programs leading to a B.S. degree in Engineering Technology in a number of technical (program) concentrations (i.e., Electronics Engineering Technology (EET), Industrial Technology (IT), Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET), & Product Development (PDEV).

For more information on current and planned cohort offerings, see the announcements section below or contact Ms. Jamie Lewis, by phone at (423) 439-7654 and leave a message with contact information or by E-mail at lewisjb@etsu.edu.

Transfer InIt is strongly recommended that all prospective transfer students visit the departmental "Transferring into ETSU" page for detailed information regarding university and departmental policies and requirements prior to transferring into the department's various programs.
