Phyllis Cooper joined the ETSU staff in October 2006 as secretary III in Facilities Management. Several years later, November 2009, she was promoted to executive aide for the College of Public Health, a Division of Health Sciences. Phyllis is currently serving on Staff Senate as an elected member and has enjoyed this position for two terms. She currently serves as Chair of the Picnic Committee. Other committee involvement includes service on the Staff Concerns, Blood Drive, and Review of Staff Award Process Committees.
Prior to joining the ETSU family, Phyllis was employed by Snap-On Tools. She worked in the area of accounting/payroll; a job she enjoyed for some 27 years. In addition, she had also previously been employed by Dawn of Hope Development Center for a seven-year span.
Phyllis is a graduate of Science Hill High School. She is married and enjoys three step-children and 4 step-grandchildren. Phyllis enjoys playing golf.
