When Candy Massey arrived at ETSU May 2003 she was hired as a customer support specialist in the Office of Information Technology. Candy was elected to Staff Senate in 2009 representing the EEOC 5 category. Her current committee involvement includes Staff Development and Evaluation and Staff Picnic Committees. In previous years, she has served on the Communications and Website, Visibility, and Review of Staff Awards Process Committees.
Prior to her arrival at ETSU, Candy worked at Northeast State beginning 1995 through 2003. At Northeast State, she began working as a computer operator and worked her way through the ranks to a computer programmer.
Candy currently holds a Master of Professional Studies in Strategic Leadership from East Tennessee State University (2009), Bachelor of Applied Science degree from East Tennessee State University (2004), and an Associate of Science degree (1995) from Northeast State Technical Community College graduating Cum Laude. She graduated from University High School (1985).
Candy has been married to Butch for 20 years. They have no biological children, but do enjoy two dogs (Andy and Brandy), three cats (Molly, Abby and Gracie), and one bird (Mocha) all very much a part of their family and considered their children. Candy and her husband truly enjoy outdoor activities. They especially enjoy camping and frequently camp out on weekends, especially during the summer months. They are very active and most times are not at home in the summer so all of their friends know if they want to plan activities with them early calendar planning is a necessity. Candys motto is Life is too short to sit still!
