Working for the College of Nursing for over 11 years, Donna was
fortunate to have had the opportunity to facilitate fiscal training
sessions for new and existing employees. She served on
various College of Nursing committees and enjoyed her tenure in
nursing.
For the past 3 years, Donna has been given the privilege to work in
the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic
Affairs. She truly enjoys interacting with students, staff,
and faculty and strives to assist them to the best of her
ability. Donna assists with fiscal paperwork for the Division
of Academic Affairs. In August 2009, Donna successfully
developed, coordinated, and implemented a Fiscal Workshop for
deans, chairs, and support staff which included the integration of
speakers from various administrative offices throughout the
university.
Donna is serving her first term as an elected Senator. She previously served a short stint during her tenure in nursing completing the term of a former Senator. During that time, she served on the University Wellness Committee in the stead of the Senate President. Donna is both honored and excited to have been elected and has hopes of being the best voice possible in representing the ETSU staff members. She is currently serving on the Staff Development and Evaluation and the Blood Drive Committees. Most recently, she served as an integral part of the Holiday Drive and is looking forward to taking part in the awesome service projects in which the Senate is involved.
As part of Donna’s decision to begin living a healthier lifestyle, in the summer of 2009 she began working with a personal trainer at the Center for Physical Activity (CPA). She continued her endeavor and currently is the contact for the ETSU At-Work Program with Weight Watchers. To date, she has successfully lost 46 pounds. She truly enjoys walking indoors, outside tracks, and hiking.
Originally from West Virginia, she is a lover of the outdoors. Even though it has been several years since she has owned a horse, nevertheless, she still loves to ride and take in the beauty of God’s creation. She also enjoys push-mowing her yard! She is a born nurturer and enjoys helping her family and others in any way possible. She even enjoys push mowing her yard!
Donna has been an active member of Tri Cities Baptist Church since 1996. She enjoys serving in the preschool area, Children’s Choir, Youth ministry, and singing with the Celebration Singers! Her life scripture verse is Proverbs: 3: 5-6.
She is married to Nathan and her son Josh is 16 and a sophomore at University School. Last, but not least, her family is blessed to have their dog Dusty.
