 JOB DESCRIPTION

The US Department of Navy is looking for those special individuals that desire challenge, that strive to lead, that look for a better way, and do not lend themselves to status quo.  If you have the ability to work with limited direction, enjoy traveling, are a self-motivator, detail oriented, possess exceptional organizational skills, and have the ability to quickly process information and respond appropriately, then would should apply for an exciting career as a security specialist.  A security professional represents the Department of Navy in the protection of vital national security information and provides policy and guidance to the military, government agencies and industrial contractors.  Security professionals are responsible for the execution of all aspects of program security and emphasizing a structured risk management approach to bring issues to final resolution.

 Duties performed include, but not limited to, determining classification management; oversight of facility security and information systems practices and procedures; and security reviews in accordance with Department of Defense policies and procedures.  The security professional will be skilled at providing technical security guidance and educating personnel in the protection of national security information.  As the incumbent progressed from an entry-level position to mid-level, job responsibility and authority increases.

  Requirements: GPA 3.0 minimum, U.S. Citizenship required, and background check will be performed. Interest in travel, ability to work in teams, 2nd semester sophomore status through graduate level
