JOB DESCRIPTION: Each year, outstanding students are recruited for the FBI internship program from colleges and universities throughout the country to work for approximately 10 weeks during the summer at select Field Office locations across the country or in FBI Headquarters (FBIHQ) divisions located in Quantico, Virginia; Winchester, Virginia; Clarksburg, West Virginia; and Washington, D.C. The dates of the 2017 FBI Honors Internship Program (HIP) are from June 17, 2017 to August 18, 2017.
The HIP is a paid internship that offers undergraduates, graduates or post doctorate students throughout the country an exciting insider’s view of FBI operations and an opportunity to explore career opportunities within the Bureau. The HIP will offer interns a broad overview of the FBI’s operations. One objective of the HIP is to provide these bright and goal-oriented individuals with potential employment opportunities within the FBI after obtaining their degree or upon obtaining sufficient work experience.
Candidates who participate in the Honors Internship Program have the opportunity to gain insight into a broad range of FBI careers. During the program, candidates will:
Work side-by-side with Special Agents and Professional Staff in field offices nationwide and at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
- Gain exposure to important cases, major projects, and critical management issues
- Obtain a Top Secret security clearance
- Earn compensation at the GS-2 to GS-7 hourly rates
- Participate in some investigative activities and work on projects essential to the Bureau’s mission

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Congressional Offices of Congressman Phil Roe is seeking qualified students to fill the internship position at their Kingsport and Morristown, Tennessee field offices. Congressional Office for Congressman Phil Roe provides constituent service and participates in the legislative process of the United States on behalf of the citizens of the First Congressional District of Tennessee.
Basic duties of the student will be mail distribution, answering phones, correspondence media clippings, research, compiling information, and special projects. Minimum qualifications include proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Preferred skills include excellent communication skills both verbal and written, discretion and confidentiality with handling of congressional work, capable of working efficiently on an individual and team basis, and compassionate to constituent needs.
HOURS: 10-19 pr/wk (1 Credit Hour)
