Outreach
The Counseling Center staff provides informational and
educational programs about our services as well as programs on a
wide variety of mental health topics. Some of the programs
that we present are:
- What You Can Do to End Sexism and Violence
- Seeking and Maintaining Healthy Relationships
- Alcohol and Drug Awareness: Low Risk vs. High Risk
Choices
- Eating Disorder Awareness & Prevention
- The Media, Body Image and Eating Disorders
- Understanding and Overcoming Depression
- Cultural Diversity: Affirming and Celebrating our
Differences
- Learning about Yourself and Others: Using the Myers Briggs
Type Indicator
- Career Planning: Finding a Major and a Career that Fits
- Dealing with Difficult People
- Stress Management: Learning How to Relax
- Overcoming Anxiety and Worry
As mentioned, the above topics are just some of the programs
that we present. We also design programs that are tailored to
meet your needs.
Possible Ways to Use Our Programs:
- To supplement a classroom lecture
- To fulfill residential life programming requirement
- To educate peers about high risk behaviors or mental health
