| Academic Accessibility | Linda Gibson, Director (423)439-8346/8370 (v/tdd) (423)439-8489 (fax) E-mail Linda Gibson Ms. Gibson is Director of Disability Services and University ADA/504 Coordinator. She oversees administrative, personnel, and budgetary operations of the unit as well as supervising the provision of direct service to student and staff with disabilities. As the primary contact for university administrators, faculty, staff, and students in regards to disability issues, Ms. Gibson serves as the compliance officer for the ADA and Section 504 to ensure compliance in academic, physical, and employment areas. Ms. Gibson, who is a wheelchair user, has worked as disability rights advocate for over twenty-five years. She is certified by the Disability Rights and Enforcement Defense Fund (DREDF) as an Americans with Disabilities Act trainer and by the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission as an ADA expert witness. Martha Edde-Adams, Assistant
Director, Disability Services Ms. Edde-Adams is the Assistant Director of Disability Services. She is responsible for assisting the Director with daily administrative duties as well as providing direct service’s to student’s and staff with disabilities. She is responsible for providing, as needed, counseling to students with disabilities and developing programs to enhance student academic and personal success. Ms. Edde-Adams is also responsible for the coordination and provision of appropriate student accommodations, as designated by the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504. Libby Tipton, CSC, Interpreter Coordinator Ms. Tipton has worked for the university since 1995. She holds a comprehensive skills certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and has worked as an interpreter for 19 years. She also assists in coordinating services for students with various disabilities, including supervision of individual services providers to students. She is a presenter with the Institute for Educational Interpreters, Tennessee Department of Education, Division of Special Education and an evaluator for the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment, (EIPA), Tennessee Department of Education, Division of Special Education. Kim Storey, Administrative Secretary Ms. Storey has worked for the university since 1992. She serves as office manager for the department and assists the director and assistant director in coordinating accommodations and services for all students and staff. She maintains all the calendars in the office and oversees the budget for Disability Services and the ADA account.
