Academic Initiatives
The Department of Housing and Residence Life is committed to your success as a student both in and out of the classroom. Your academics are a priority, and we are proud of the ways we provide tools and resources to help you graduate. Some of the ways we help you learn and grow in our halls and apartments include our residential curriculum, academic tutoring, study groups, and Living-Learning Communities.
Live in ETSU Residence Halls and Apartments
Students who choose to live on campus their first year are retained at ETSU at a higher rate than those who do not. Stay with us on campus for a second year or beyond, and those rates are even better. Our Residential Curriculum provides all residents a foundation upon which to build your success.
Join a Living-Learning Community
Participation in a Living-Learning Community provides you with an additional connection to faculty and staff through intentional programming and activities.
Work in ETSU Housing and Residence Life
Students who work part-time while enrolled as undergraduates have been shown to do better academically than those who choose not to work. We offer a number of different positions that can help you learn new skills that can make you more marketable after graduation.
Take Advantage of Tutoring and Study Halls in Your Hall/Apartment Complex
All of our halls and apartments support in-hall study groups for residents each semester, and some of our halls offer on-site tutoring for a variety of popular courses.
Utilize Study Space
All our halls and apartments offer quiet study space and convenient group meeting space so that you can focus on your classes and homework.
Academic Performance of Our Residents
We are proud to say that our on-campus housing provides a space for students to be supported in their academics. As the data below shows, many of our students are achieving high academic success each semester.
