"Running for a Reason" 5k
Sponsored by Kappa Delta

Location: Charles C. Sherrod Library, ETSU campus

The East Tennessee State University chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority will sponsor a 5K “Running for a Reason” run and walk on Saturday, Nov. 12. All proceeds will benefit Johnson City’s Coalition for Kids, the Children’s Advocacy Center in Blountville and the national organization Prevent Child Abuse America

An entry fee of $25 may be paid at registration, beginning at 7:30 a.m. in front of the Charles C. Sherrod Library on campus. The race begins at 8:30 a.m.

Eighty percent of the funds collected will be donated to the two local organizations for children. The remaining 20 percent will be given to Prevent Child Abuse America. Kappa Delta chose the child abuse group as a national philanthropy partner in 1981 and has raised $7.1 million so far for that cause.
