COMPASS –The COMPASS test is a computerized test and is not timed.
IMPORTANT COMPASS TESTING INFORMATION:
Students who wish to challenge their placement in Learning Support may do so by taking the COMPASS test prior to the beginning of the term. Students who have previously enrolled in a Learning Support lab and failed to complete the requirements may not challenge Learning Support Program placement. Students who have previously enrolled in a Developmental Studies Program course and failed to complete the course may not challenge their placement by taking the COMPASS. A $20.00 non-refundable fee is charged for the challenge. This fee must be paid the day of the test by cash or check. Prior to testing, students must obtain "Permission to Test" form from the Univeristy Advisement Center. This form ensures that the student is testing the appropriate areas of COMPASS and must be presented to the testing personnel at time of check-in. Placement may only be challenged once.
If you have questions, need assistance in scheduling or wish to obtain a "Permission to Test" form, please contact the University Advisement Center at 423-439-5244 (located in the ARC, 2nd Level of the D.P. Culp Center).
