University Testing Center Mission Statement

The University Testing Center strives to ensure that all test are administered under standardized conditions that are efficient, fair, and secure, while providing examinees with the utmost level of student-friendly service that allows each the opportunity to demonstrate his/her ability and provide comparable results.

Toward this end, the University Testing Center provides:
 
      a well-trained professional staff
      optimal environmental conditions
      and uniform test procedures.

 

Policy for Providing On-Campus Testing Services

 Your ETSU student ID card (ID Policy) is required for admission.

  • Cell phones & other electronic devices
  • Sunglasses
  • Watches
  • Hats of any kind
  • Hooded shirts
  • Handbags
  • Backpacks
  • Food including gum/candy
  • Water or other drinks
  • Umbrellas
  • Scrap paper
  • Books
  • Calculators
  • Pens/Pencils
  • Tobacco of any kind
  • Other Guidelines

Exceptions are made for items permitted for specific tests. The Testing
Director has the right to refuse admission to the testing lab for any
reason deemed as a possible violation of security or as a possible
disruption to other examinees.

Your instructor will tell our staff what materials, if any, you may bring
into the testing area (e.g. notes, calculators, or textbooks). If your
instructor allows the use of scratch paper, Testing staff will provide
and collect it after your exam is done. Personal belongings may not
be taken to your seat unless in a bag provided by Testing staff, which
must remain under your seat.

Cell phones and other electronic devices
must be turned off and stored away from your assigned workspace during
testing (not on your person or on the desk).

TESTING HOURS:

Monday-Thursday:
8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
No one admitted for 60 min tests
After 7:00 p.m.
(6:30 p.m. for tests over 60 min)

FRIDAY HOURS:

8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
No one admitted for 60 min tests
After 3:30 p.m.
(3:00 p.m. for tests over 60 min)
