CHARGE: |
The Intellectual Property Advisory Committee (IPAC) is authorized by the East Tennessee State University Intellectual Property Policy. The IPAC shall, in accord with the University's Intellectual Property Policy, conduct investigations as it deems necessary to evaluate invention and authorship disclosures (Intellectual Property [IP]) by faculty, staff, and students at East Tennessee State University (ETSU). Based on its evaluation of the IP, the IPAC shall make a recommendation to the Vice Provost for Research and Sponsored Programs regarding ownership of the IP. With its recommendation as to ownership of IP, the IPAC shall also recommend whether patent or copyright protection should be sought. The IPAC may also, if needed, consult ad hoc experts in making its investigation. |
