Post 9/11 GI BILL, CHAPTER 33



Complete the Veterans ON-line APPlication (VONAPP), OR complete the VA Form 1990 (black ink only). Submit a copy of the application to the ETSU Office of Veterans Affairs with the date you submitted the application.
  1. Do not select "Chapter 33 irrevocable electron" unless absolute about decision to use Ch.33 Post 9/11 benefits.

Provide a photocopy of your DD214 (member 4 copy).


Proof of Additional College Fund or Kicker (if applicable)
  1. College Fund - enlistment contract

  2. MGIB Additional - Proof of $600 pay in. (cash collection voucher, LES, DFAS statement)

Upon approval and receipt of your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, submit a copy to the ETSU Office of Veterans Affairs.


Read and submit the Certificate of Understanding and the Post 9/11 GI Bill Statement of Understanding.


Must complete the Certification Request Form (CRF) once registered.


Must obtain a Prior Credit Evaluation by an approved VA Academic advisor
  1. Undergraduates may have up to two terms to get the Prior Credit Evaluation
    (degree program outline) completed.
  2. Graduate students must submit their Prior Credit Evaluation/Program of Study at the end of their first term.
Return all documents to: Burgin Dossett Hall, Room 101-A.


Remember it may take the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs approximately 30 to 60 days to process a VA Claim (application).
