ETSU’s College of Nursing Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program earned the top spot in a national ranking of “2019 Best DNP Programs” by RegisteredNursing.org.
RegisteredNursing.org, a nursing advocacy organization, ranked DNP programs nationwide by assessing several factors that represent how well a program supports students during school, towards licensure and beyond.
“We knew that our faculty and students were top-quality, and this No. 1 national ranking affirms that our program is meeting the needs of nurses who want to pursue leadership roles and continue their education beyond a baccalaureate and master’s degree,” said Dr. Wendy Nehring, dean of the College of Nursing.
ETSU’s DNP program is a doctoral degree focused on rural clinical practice in primary care settings. The program prepares advanced practice nurses and executive nurse leaders to assess and evaluate evidence from research and translate or use the findings to affect practice change to enhance and promote quality of care.
The program is offered in an online/blended format in which students complete most coursework online with required on-campus intensive sessions one to two times per semester. Concentrations include executive leadership, family nurse practitioner, adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner and psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner.
