Every December, approximately 130 students and faculty convene in Washington, D.C.,
for the annual ATP Conference. This three-day event features student research presentations,
discussions of community issues, poster presentations, and opportunities for students
and faculty from thirteen (13) institutions to interact.
The conference also gives ARC administrators and staff an opportunity to learn about
diverse issues and needs within specific Appalachian communities; most importantly,
students propose solutions to problems and explore ways to meet the needs of these
