Recital Hall Receives New Look

The Recital Hall in Mathes Music Building received a fresh new look this summer with the replacement of it's old wooden classroom seats with new theater style seating.  The new seating is quiet and comfortable and a great addition to the music building.  In addition the carpet was placed and a fresh coat of paint was added to the walls.  Together with the department's new Steinway pianos, concert attendees and performers alike will be delighted with the new professional look and sound.

Heirloom Pianos Return

Two of the four heirloom Steinway pianos have returned from New York after having extensive work completed on them.  This heirloom work was part of the total package of replacing the old pianos and becoming an "All Steinway School."  The rebuilt pianos have the original Steinway markings and a small plaque inside designating them as a "heirloom" Steinway Piano.
