The college graduated its first class in May 2010 and received full accreditation status from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education in July 2010. The Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy at first offered only the PharmD degree and now offers joint degree programs (PharmD-MPH, PharmD-MBA), and Pharmaceutical Sciences-PhD. The college has a Residency program, Fellowship Program and an international rotation. The college currently enrolls 324 students in the four classes. Enrollment is generally limited to 80 students per class (320 students).

The ACPE accredits Doctor of Pharmacy programs offered by Colleges and Schools of Pharmacy in the United States and selected non-US sites.
East Tennessee State University’s Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy has full accreditation for its postgraduate year two (PGY2) residency programs from the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (www.ashp.org). ETSU received full accreditation for its PGY2 programs in internal medicine and ambulatory care from the ASHP Commission on Credentialing.
