TSBDC February workshops
JOHNSON CITY (Jan. 25, 2018) — The Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) at East Tennessee State University will offer two workshops for entrepreneurs in February at the ETSU Innovation Laboratory, 2109 W. Market St.
The first, “Hands-On Training Using Facebook Advertising Tool” will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This advanced Facebook workshop is designed for business page admins and will cover how to create three campaigns. One campaign is to increase business page “likes,” another “engagement post” is to amplify the reach of Facebook and Instagram posts, and the final one is an ad that could help increase traffic to a business’ website using a call-to-action button.
Attendees will walk through each campaign up until the point of purchase, at which time they can decide if they wish to promote the newly created ads. If so, a $5 per day minimum is required for each Facebook ad to go live.
The workshop is $50 and will be taught by Valentina Escobar-Gonzalez, founder of Beyond Engagement – Social Media Solutions. She assists small businesses in growing their engagement levels with customers online through social media marketing.
“Creating a 2018 Hiring Plan that Drives Profitability” will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The workshop is $75 and will be taught by Ashley Cox, human resources partner for small businesses at sproutHR. She will walk through the steps of creating a hiring plan that drives profitability by understanding why it's important to align your hiring plan with your business plan - and how to do it.
Cox has over 10 years of experience in corporate leadership and human resources. She played an instrumental role in the development of major corporate HR programs for a Fortune 25 company and has developed certification curriculum with the Society for Human Resource Management.
