'Design Thinking'
JOHNSON CITY (Feb. 14, 2018) – A two-session course on “Design Thinking” will be presented by East Tennessee State University’s Office of Professional Development on Saturday and Sunday, March 3-4.
Creativity has been ranked by Forbes Magazine as one of employers’ most-desired skills in the 21st century to meet the demands of an ever-changing world. “Design Thinking” enhances creativity by drawing on logic, imagination, intuition and systemic reasoning to solve complex problems.
In this course, Jennifer Dafcik, a former instructor of creativity, innovation and vision at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will introduce participants to the “Design Thinking” framework and tools for expanding creativity. She will share how these tools may be used in participants’ personal and work lives every day.
Sessions will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on March 3 and 1-4 p.m. on March 4 at the ETSU Innovation Lab, 2019 Market St. The cost of the course is $149 per person, with group rates available; CEU certificates are available for $25. Participants should bring a three-inch binder to hold course materials and make plans for lunch on their own.
