Esther Park Recital
JOHNSON CITY (March 26, 2018) – Pianist Dr. Esther Park will present a Faculty Recital at East Tennessee State University on Friday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Brown Hall auditorium.
Park’s recital will feature works from among her childhood favorites, including Chopin’s “Andante Spianato and Grand Polonaise” and Schumann’s “Children’s Scenes.”
Park is an assistant professor of piano and artistic director of the Pre-College Program in the ETSU Department of Music.
Born in Pusan, Korea, Park began playing piano as a young child. Her family moved to the U.S. in 1995, and she was educated at the Juilliard School in New York, where she attended Pre-College and earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees. She also holds an artist diploma, master’s degree and doctor of musical arts degree from the Yale School of Music.
Park and her sister, Sun-A Park, also a pianist, form the award-winning Duo Amadeae and have performed recitals in major venues in the U.S., Europe, South America and Asia.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for seniors and free for students with ID.
