Kathryn Jenkins
KNOXVILLE – Kathryn Jenkins has been named the academic advisor representing East Tennessee State University at Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville.
In this position, which reports to the director of the Transfer Articulation Office in the ETSU School of Continuing Studies and Academic Outreach, Jenkins advises students who are interested in transferring from Pellissippi State to ETSU. In addition, she assists with recruitment, major and career planning, and retention of students.
According to Dr. Rick Osborn, dean of the ETSU School of Continuing Studies and Academic Outreach, “This move allows us to engage more fully with students at Pellissippi State Community College. While Kathryn’s first priority is to see that students complete their associate degrees, her second is to make the transition to ETSU as seamless as possible. I’m very excited about this new partnership with one of the fastest-growing community colleges in Tennessee.”
Jenkins graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2011 with a degree in recording industry with an emphasis in audio production and technology.
She is also a musician and plays fiddle in the band Custom Made Bluegrass. She was selected for the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Leadership Bluegrass Class of 2017, and served three years on the board for The Kentucky School of Bluegrass and Traditional Music from 2014-17.
