Small Miracles fundraisers
JOHNSON CITY (March 21, 2018) – Student organizations at East Tennessee State University are teaming up to raise money for Small Miracles Therapeutic Equestrian Center Inc.
A Charity Ball co-sponsored by the ETSU Honor’s College Student Council and the Chronic Illness and Disease Awareness Organization (CIDA) will be held Tuesday, March 27, at the Carnegie Hotel, 1216 W. State of Franklin Road, from 7-10 p.m. The event is open to ETSU faculty, staff and students. Tickets are $15 each or $165 per table of 12 and will be sold in advance or at the door. Semi-formal and formal dress is encouraged and light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
CIDA is a new interdisciplinary organization that partners with ETSU’s Quillen College of Medicine, College of Public Health, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Nursing, and Gatton College of Pharmacy to raise awareness for chronic illnesses. During the month of March, CIDA is highlighting autism by hosting several fundraisers in support Small Miracles, a Christian-based, equine-assisted therapeutic facility.
Earlier this month, CIDA hosted a campus-wide bake sale and will assist with the Western Derby Dinner and Auction Benefit on Saturday, April 7, from 5-7 p.m. at Small Miracles, 1026 Rock Springs Drive, Kingsport.
All proceeds from the bake sale and charity ball will go directly to Small Miracles, whose mission is to enhance the physical, emotional, social and cognitive growth of persons with special needs and disabilities by means of equine-assisted activities and therapies.
CIDA is collecting tax-deducible monetary donations on behalf of Small Miracles. For more information, contact Vidiya Sathananthan at sathananthan@etsu.edu.
