Addressing e-cigs
JOHNSON CITY (April 10, 2018) – The latest talk in the Leading Voices in Public Health lecture series offered by East Tennessee State University’s College of Public Health will take place Tuesday, April 17, at 6 p.m. at the Millennium Center in Johnson City.
Dr. Judith Groner, the program director of the Academic General Pediatrics Programs at Nationwide Children’s Hosptial and a clinical professor of pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, will present “E-Cigarettes and Other Newer Nicotine Delivery Products: What We Know Now.”
Groner practices pediatrics in the Section of Ambulatory Pediatrics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and is a preceptor for pediatric residents while also providing direct patient care. She is a member of an award-winning Asthma Quality Improvement team for the Section of Ambulatory Pediatrics.
Her research interest is in preclinical cardiovascular effects of secondhand smoke exposure during childhood. She has received research funding from entities including the National Institutes of Health, the American Lung Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
She is currently the chair of the AAP Section on Tobacco Control.
Prior to the lecture, a meet-and-greet reception with Groner will begin at 5:15 p.m.
The event, which, is free and open to the public, is a part of the AAP Julius B. Richmond Center Visiting Lecturship program funded by the Flight Attendant Medical Research Institute. It will also be available via livestream at www.etsu.edu/cph/livestream.php.
