Innovation Lab award
JOHNSON CITY (June 21, 2018) – The Innovation Lab at East Tennessee State University has received the Incubator of the Month and Impact Award from the International Business Innovation Association (InBIA).
InBIA, a global nonprofit that supports entrepreneurial organizations, recognizes high-impact member organizations throughout the year by awarding a monthly Impact Awards in six categories. ETSU’s Innovation Lab was selected in the university category.
The Innovation Lab, located at 2109 W. Market St., earned a Soft Landings Designation from the InBIA, which identifies the incubator as having specialized programs and facilities available to help international companies break into new markets. Only 20 business incubators worldwide hold this prestigious designation. Dr. Audrey Depelteau, director of ETSU’s Innovation Lab, spoke about the success of its Soft Landings Program at the International Conference on Business Incubation in April.
The Innovation Lab is a high-tech business incubator that assists aspiring entrepreneurs in developing their ideas from concept to commercialization. It offers wet and dry lab space, office space, an entrepreneur resource center, meeting rooms and an innovation studio.
