JOHNSON CITY – (June 11, 2018) The U.S. Olympic Training Site at East Tennessee State University will host the Olympic Day 2018 Celebration on Friday, June 22 at Kermit Tipton Stadium on the campus of Science Hill High School.

The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the closing ceremony will start at noon.  Youth ages 5-12 are invited to be part of Olympic Day, which is free and open to the public.  Activities will include weightlifting, track and field, rugby, soccer, other Olympic sports and a sport science station.

The Olympic Training Site, which is part of ETSU’s Center of Excellence in Sport Science and Coach Education in the Clemmer College, hosted its first Olympic Day event in 2012.

Due to other scheduled events at Freedom Hall, parking will be limited.
